Hochzeitsgesellschaft wird von einem alten Seefahrer angehalten, der unter Erz\u00e4hlzwang leidet: Immer wieder muss er seine Geschichte einem Fremden erz\u00e4hlen. Gebannt von der hypnotisierenden Erscheinung des Alten kann der Gast nicht anders als zuh\u00f6ren. Der Seefahrer erz\u00e4hlt, wie er und seine Mannschaft einst aufbrachen, um das Gl\u00fcck in der Ferne zu suchen, wie das Schiff jedoch von einem schweren Sturm heimgesucht und ins s\u00fcdliche Polarmeer verschlagen wurde. Dort, in Eis und Windstille, kam ein Albatros zu ihnen an Bord und brachte mit seinem Erscheinen eine frische Brise auf, die das Schiff aus dem Eismeer heraussteuerte. Doch der Seefahrer erschoss den Albatros mit seinem Pfeil und besiegelte damit das Schicksal von Schiff und Mannschaft.<\/p><p>Die Vorlage von Samuel Taylor Coleridge geh\u00f6rt zu den Klassikern der
